Kevon Joseph

a.k.a. K.K

Kevon was born in Trinidad at the Point Fortin Medical Hospital. He attended Rancho Quamado Government School. Five years after he attended Siparia Junior and Senior Secondary School. At the age of seventeen he migrated to Tobago. He then started singing to relieve the stress of his family.

Chanting, raping and singing were a way of life for him. In 2006, he started going to studios, recording in a way of training for himself. His first studio practice was with ‘Another Level Recording’ training was then a serious thing. For the next year and a half, kevon trained to develop his voice and breathing techniques which he is still trying to maneuver.

In 2007, kevon for the first time performed in Bellegarden at a beach party; from there he realized that he had to make a serious step towards his music. Then he turned to recording his first song, ‘Falling in Love’. This song was done for his wife; she in turn audited that very song. The exposure of that song made him do other songs. Within a few weeks kevon started getting request on the song to be preformed for promotional use.

In 2008, kevon released three songs, two Soca (Wine on Me) and (Wok up Yuh Bumper) and one Reggae (Hold you Tight Tonight). One of the Soca songs’ Wok up Yuh Bumper’ was featured by a local artist, kekere. It was a big opening for kevon. 2009 he released two other songs a Soca ‘Feeling Yuh Vibes’ and a Reggae’ Close To you’. Lots of people called in to the radio station just to request his songs, artist wanting to do combination of songs with him. As ‘Wok up Yuh Bumper’ became famous kevon decided to put all the years of training to the test.

In 2009, the radio station (92.7fm) had a show which the first top ten artistes on the island performed on live television. Kevon was astonished that he classed in the Top Ten artist. Kevon’s largest performance was on the 14th January 2009 at the ‘Bmobile Soca Spree’ where he opened the show. As being a multitalented artist kevon learned to separate his music from his private life and he is now currently working on a music video and other songs.
