Tell us a bit about yourself (put your bio here if you have one): Yud Kei are Yonatan Rukhman (DJ YondL) and Kooki Salinas, both born in 1976 in Israel and both work as Sound Engineers at studio's in Bergamo and Tel Aviv. Yonatan's story goes a little like this; Due to his fathers work the family moved to the USA, then Germany and after that to Italy, where Yonatan currently lives. He studied Sound Engineering in Israel where he became an Assistant Engineer and promoted to Engineer at the Sigma Studios of tel Aviv. On behalf of his various expirences with many Artists and projects Yonatan collaberated with Artists all over the globe which finally led him to electronic music and his current project with Kooki Salinas. Kooki was a regular Guitar player with a Israeli Punk band called "Kuku Blof Vehayetuhim" which had various successes in Israel. After the split up Kooki also worked on several projects which pointed him the Yud kei project direction.

Yud Kei’s musical inspiration is the sum of Yonatan’s and Kooki’s vast musical heritage. Yonatan is son of a classical musician, Kooki was nurtured from his father’s passion for 70’s rock and early heavy metal. Both were very rock-punk-metal oriented during the 90’s. Then the sound engineering studies open their horizons on the various aspects of musical production. They started working as sound engineers in various musical genres, making their way as sound engineers in Israel and abroad, working with known artists such as Ethnics, Orna and Moshe Datz ,Zula Members in Israel, Ian Paice (Deep Puple), Clive Bunker (Jethro Tull) and Morris Albert abroad. Meanwhile they continued expanding their musical creativity through Hip Hop, Funky Breaks, Lounge and Groove, eventually beginning to harden their style, passing through house and psy trance. Their point of arrival was Electro, it’s dark atmosphere representing a common and intense bond with the suggestive and malicious vibe of underground club events.

Yud Kei's first release, The Mercurial Flash EP came out june 2008 with swiss house/electro label 2Delicious Recordings. Yud Kei also signed with irish label Shabuum/queep and remixed french trio WashingMaJazz debut single Wow !. Yud Kei's remix reached position 62 on djdownload.com electro chart and was featured in cdpool's july underground discs. Yud Kei then released two psy trance tracks with american label Filthbox records, "Majestic Flare" and "Gili The Chemical Blow", which arrived numer 7 on roccatune.com goa chart, where Yud Kei arrived as number 2 top artist. In Israel, Yud Kei hooked up with israeli Hip Hop band "Zula Members" and together formed "Yud Kei Zula", debuting this winter in Israel with the full length album "Chetzi Kilo" released by israeli label Shaked Productions. On November 2008 Yud Kei win the producer’s face off contest on electronic music network groundzeroprojects.com with the track “Dark Redemption Circus”. On December 2008 they arrive as finalists in the Franz Ferdinand remix contest on www.beatportal.com with their remix of the track “Ulysses”. Their track “Black Dragon” is then featured in new label GZP records Vol.1 compilation, prior to the release of the single on the imprint.
