DJ Chiments, born Chris Chimento of Rochester, NY USA has been involved with the manipulation and creation of music since he was at the keen age of 15 years old. Now at 26 his journey continues as he progresses his talent, skills, and style on a global scale.

It all began while Chris was a toddler. He would sit on his grandparents lap while at their Player Piano. Marveled at its numerous whit e and black keys he would aimlessly pound on the keys laughing every time it made a sound. Even more so when it would play on it's own. If was from this moment that his parents knew Chris would be forever involved with music in one way shape or form. Several years later his parents bought him, at the time, was a chincy worse than midi sounding keyboard. This was gold to him. He took it everywhere. Playing random bars of melodies and songs he had heard. Chris never took piano lessons. In 4th grade Chris joined the Jazz Band. He had been privileged to have seen the "Beverly Hills Cop" movies and was instantly entertained with the theme song, "Axel F" Chris, only hearing it, played the song for his band instructor who later thought it would be a cool idea to perform that song at the Band' Spring concert. Not knowing how to read music, other than basic notes. Chris wrote out his part one note at a time so that he would be able to perform. This performance by Chris and his band was noted as the best performance the school had ever put on. It was so well accepted it received a standing ovation.

Chris was dormant in the musical aspect for many years following that. Growing more fond of Computers, video games, and technology in general, Chris went on to pursue many other, but later gratifying avenues.

Being a sophomore at East Ridge High School, in Rochester, Chris was involved with audio/visual equipment at concerts and other various events Chris was known not as being the AV geek, but rather a go to person to get things accomplished. Whether it be video or musical presentations Chris was able to provide what the people wanted. So with that Chris was approached by his principal asking if there was any way they could play CDs in a cafeteria for students to dance to. At the time, the school offered a Teen night where students could have a safe place to go to participate in activities such as Basketball in the gym, movies in the auditorium, swimming, and soon to be music in the cafeteria. all this for $1 dollar.

Chris had never known what DJing was at that point being a 15 year old in high school. He did some research and found some DJ setups that included the dual CD decks, amp, speakers and case. He got a price from his local one stop music shop, which happens to be the world famous House of Guitars. He got a price and brought it to his principal and was like "This is what I need" Later that day he received a check for $2300 to go buy that equipment and bring it back to the school. Although it was the school's equipment, Chris used this equipment at his will practicing daily and teaching him self from the ground up. During this time period Chris was known to his friends as Chiments. They did that for a lot of people, shorten the last name and added the s at the end. It stuck and he like it. It was at this point in time that DJ Chiments was born.

DJ Chiments went on to be the DJ for the school's Teen Nights, paid only $25 a night. He started off in the smallest of three cafeterias. Playing the latest Top 40 music. This quickly became so large that the next week it went to the largest cafeteria. Every Saturday got larger and larger. It was the hottest thing to hit our school. Everyone talked about it, but few knew who was actually providing the great sounds. Teen night lasted about a year and a half. the "club" portion turned into a frenzy of kids dancing and having a great time. It got shut down because it was hard to find parent volunteers to watch the kids and because there were many parent complaints of the way the kids were dancing.

After high school, Chiments went out to discover the clubs around Rochester. Tremors, Gotham City, Centers, and Coolies. Those were the ones Chiments was at almost every weekend for the better part of 2-3 years. At this time, house and techno were the dominate music choices played at all clubs and this sparked the style of preference for Chiments. Clubs came and went, but Chiments knew that what he had heard at those clubs would stay with him forever.

Around 2003 Chiments obtained a position as Promotions Manager for a new club called Liquid. This would open the door to many new avenues for Chiments. Running that aspect of the club later got him a spot as the main DJ for Thursday and Saturday nights. This further improved his skills and gave him a peace of mind as far as mixing and reading the crowd. He did it well. From that point the club became an unsafe environment and Chiments decided to leave in fear that something would happen.

This break gave Chiments an opportunity to venture in the production aspect of music. Having messed around with Fruity Loops in the past, Chiments had the concepts he needed to teach him self the application and run with it. Keeping at it, Chiments developed a skill in producing great music for his listeners but was only limited to his now hip-hop dominated city.

Hello Ground Zero Projects! Using this phenomenal tool and networking site, Chiments was able to get his tracks out to the people that would appreciate them. From there it has been a steady increase of exposure, feedback, and talent. With influences from the site, along side Artists such as Deadmau5, Glenn Morrison, Tiesto, Armin VanBurin, and many local individuals, Chiments has developed his style and displays it nicely on his websites. He gives many thanks for GZP and its members. If it weren't for that, he would not have gotten a chance to be a part of Ground Zero Records as well as Trident Music and is sure to work with many others as the future takes shape.

Chris, aka DJ Chiments wishes to express his thanks for all the support he has received over the years and currently. He hope that everyone enjoys his creations and spreads the love for music. It is the only true universal language.

Sweet, now basically the album's been mastered by lucius and is just waiting for me to send to symphonic, so time is kinda of the essence. if you could give a 2 week deadline and state that we'll decide on the winner (no public vote) that'll be great. :)
